Stranger Than Fiction

Wow, was I in negative space when I wrote this. The show has a bitter sense from beginning to end. It was supposed to be a story about how truth becomes a weapon, or at least an asset. I observed that a growing number of public officials, religious leaders, athletes, and entertainers were confessing their “sins” in public, and that in time, that same confessor became even more powerful because they told the truth!

I had an incident in a kindergarten class that fed into my obsession with the truth. We were sitting on the floor when I noticed that someone had spit on the floor. I told the class that I expected the person who did it to tell the truth, and that I would be so proud of him if he did. The student admitted it. I showed how proud I was. In no time other students had spit on the floor and admitted it. Geez.

Well, ok, the songs.

Enjoy! Comments are always welcome.
